Qubicle: The Big Questions

I have some questions about Qubicle before I spend $40 to get it to start my modding career
1.) What are the system requirements for Qubicle?
2.) Is it worth the price?
3.) Is it easy to export items and stuff like that, or is it a pain?
Thank you for your answers

though i dont own it, i’ll answer your questions to the best of my ability’s

from the [website][1]

  • Microsoft Windows Vista
  • Intel Pentium 4, AMD Athlon 64, AMD Opteron processor, AMD Phenom processor
  • 1 GB RAM
  • Qualified hardware-accelerated OpenGL graphics card

you could always go get qubicle stonehearth edition, which is cheaper and is for stonehearth…

(i think you can still get it…)

3.) Is it easy to export items and stuff like that, or is it a pain?
[/quote]im not sure about qubicle, but with every other voxel editor i’ve used exporting was super easy.

edit: though i’m not sure he’ll see it, i’m going to page @Tim to see if you can still get the stonehearth edition of qubicle.

Do you not like having a Official Zilla Nickname? I know @SteveAdamo feels blessed to be called Stevey!

http://www.qubicle-constructor.com/buy.html

Scroll down to “Can I still order Qubicle Constructor 1.6?” and click it. There is the shop link for Qubicle 1.6 Stonehearth Edition for only $11. It’s totally worth that price. It’s the same link I bought it from about 3 months ago.

Exporting is pretty easy, although there are a couple fiddly bits. Always make sure you are exporting to the place you actually want to. It doesn’t always automatically change the export target when you change files. You also need to make sure to set the options correctly.

Most of the stuff here still applies in Alpha 11.

how come when i originally tried to find/go to that page, to link it for zilla, it told me that page didnt exist… @Tuhalu are you using sorcery again?

The only thing is you can’t export with that version. Which is kind of needed for mods.

You’re probably thinking about a trial version or something. I’ve not had any problems making qubicle files for stonehearth with the qubicle version made for stonehearth modders.

When I try to export as .obj it tells me to purchase the full version, when I open the product it says at the top it’s the Stonehearth edition of Qubicle. I have Qubicle 2.0 now, but I still use 1.6 for modeling.

stonehearth uses .qb not .obj

I believe that you would need the ability to export to .obj if you wanted to animate your own models, however

Ah, that’s the information I was missing.

thats not what he was asking maybe idk …

Yeah you only need .qb for the model but .obj to import to an animator

so i guess the main question is, does @Zilla want to make animated things?

if he does, but still gets stonehearth edition, he could always get someone else to export as .obj for him…

just a random thought.

I do want to make animated things, like more animals, such as bears, deers, birds, and more. I also want to make insects like bees and stuff flying around

Fireflies at night would be fantastic!

You can use StoneVox ( can be found on this forum) to make .qb into .obj btw
