Placed decorations/furniture won't be removed

Summary:
When building a custom building and placing decorations, using the erase tool will treat the placed items as if they are gone because I can click through them, however they are still visible on my screen even after restarting. I can also place blocks on the spot where the decorations are and remove the blocks just fine.

As you can see in the image below, an oil lamp is placed inside a gnome. I tried using the erase tool to delete them and they remain, I try right clicking them outside and inside the menu and they still remain.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Place decoration/furniture into world
  2. Remove it using eraser
  3. Exit custom building menu

Expected Results:
Items disappear

Actual Results:
They stay glitched in the game

Update: They are treated as being in the game, as my potter managed to place an oil lamp there and make it disappear as if I decided to build it, however I did not click “finish editing” or “build” on these objects, I merely selected them in the design screen and couldn’t remove them after placing them.

After attempting this myself, I learned something to clarify this a bit. With custom building, you can place items anywhere, but you can only remove the items if they are on a foundation or flooring that you have created in this building session. Where this goes bad is if you place a decorative ghost for an item that you don’t have and can’t make. The ghost is there forever until you can make it and there’s no way to remove it.
