for copper you could do lamps, pans, small decorations or pieces of bigger ones and tools
For gold and copper there is coins, like 1 gold coin is equal to 10 copper
And for the 3 ores, weapons, armors and pieces of another things

No offense, but why are you spending time on something thatās already in the devsā roadmap? The blacksmith will be added (and Iād guess sooner rather than later.) Why not add something thatās not likely to be duplicated?
After i try a bit and what i found is:
Copper ingot donāt show copper ore image for recipe
Iron Ingot show a too much brown ore to be iron
And after let the workers go mining a bit, 220 stones and not a single ore
i agree with othersā¦starting out copper and gold should be ornamental more than anything else. after that you could make copper swords/copper helmets and armor be a couple levels lower than iron swords/armor since you knowā¦copper age was before iron age. as far as goldā¦golden arches, golden pillars(gold plated im sure), gold statuesā¦and like you mentioned could use gold as a sort of currency as in just adding it to a recipe for certain higher tier things, gold buttons on fine clothing might require a gold ingot,ā¦not really sure what gold would be good for except for small gadgets and trinkets other than that, maybe an animated tower clock(could craft it then hang it on the outside of a tower)
that would be nice, im guessing you mean a better version of the upgraded worker outfit.
yeah or regal clothing for citizens designated as such, or maybe upgraded clothing for craftsman giving bonus to stats IE work faster, +1 level, etc etc
Answers to a few questions/comments:
Q: Why are you spending time on something the devs will be doing anyway?
A: Because I want to have a Blacksmith and work with ores and metals in-game so I made one
Suggestion: Copper Armor and Weapons
Answer: Unlikely and hereās why. Yes the copper/bronze ages were before the iron age(s) but the setting and style of Stonehearth is well after the initial iron age (approx. 1000BC to 1000AD) if comparing to our world. That said unless itās done out of a need for some sort of game progression I donāt plan on making the same things out of both copper and iron. Iron is far better for weapons and armor and copper far better for things that need to transfer heat or electricity or that need corrosion resistance.
Suggestion: Copper Building Parts
Answer: Love it! Especially the flashing/roofing bit. Perfect material for it too since copper is corrosion resistant.
Suggestion: Copper Musical Instruments
Answer: If the game had any mechanic at all in it already for musical instruments Iād be all over making those as well but right now that would be WAY too much work to mod in from scratch. At least not in this mod, perhaps in another.
Suggestion: Gold Thread/Embroidery
Answer: Very nice idea. Especially since this is something that can work back into the Weaver job for a number of things like some sort of basic golden cloth that can be used to make fancy golden bedding or curtains or better worker clothing.
Suggestion: Copper Lamps and Kitchenware
Answer: Definitely! I am already working on some rough voxel sketches (if it can be called that?) for some copper cookware. One of the things Iām considering is a still/brewery where youād feed in corn and get a ātasty beverageā out of it
Donāt worry if I didnāt mention your suggestion here Iām definitely reading all of them and there are plenty that were straightforward like most of the gold stuff. Thanks for all of the ideas so far!
Iāve been busy the last couple days but Iām hoping to get some more time in on this tonight and get the next update out with a few basic iron-based recipes. Keep the suggestions coming itās helps me significantly!
FYI, I wonāt be keeping up this mod anymore now that the official Blacksmith is coming in the next update
But it has been a good exercise for me that I can definitely use this to springboard out to some more of the metalworking classes such as the Armorsmith and Weaponsmith once the official update is released. Itās also taught me more about modding Stonehearth in general and how to use Qubicle.
That said with luck I hope to finally have some sit-down time with this and at least get the recipes out with the saw and such that I have done. Iāve been distracted with other games and other life stuff so hereās hoping
excellentā¦ looking forward to your other efforts!
i second that this was a pretty good mod. cant wait to see what else you have up your sleeve
Alrighty, I have v0.3.0 released now and added a new screenshot. I also updated the feature list to include the changes in this version. Hereās a brief overview:
Thereās probably some more small things that I canāt recall offhand but thatās most of it. And the Iron Sword weapon is fully functional and does 2x the damage of the Wooden Sword. This is probably going to be the last update for this mod but it mostly depends on how long it will be until we see the official Blacksmith and such.
Enjoy!
