Anyone knows how to show those blue ‘ghostimages’ of furniture before they are placed? I saw it in the screenshot but dont show up in my game.
@Miturion unless I’m missing something, but in the SH-G2 decompiled files there wasn’t any data for those. Any image you saw was probably a Radiant screenshot or something someone modded in
It was not a Radiant screenshot, and definitly not modded.
Heh, that info was really made my day.
Maybe this is a weird idea, but: I started wondering about PL version of Stonehearth at 30th December, just like an English one. Looks like I am only active polish-languaged volunteer here (I am on a list) D:
So, I have a question for anyone with “Pre-Alpha”: could you spare two files? (en_US.pak and pl.pak from Localization).
And another question for a good modder about opening a *.pak file.
Your on MY list…My kill list…
Don’t offtop, please. I just asked a question to start translating at least a bit faster…
also, you’re on my “don’t give anything” list.
I get punished for a joke, This day is just getting more and more depressing
It may be even worse.
Today one of german Customs Offices for one little mistake in documents gave me 1250€ penalty. I live in Poland and help my father (working in Germany) in documents… so, take it easy and stop offtoping ![]()
I thought you were a florist, Your name is very similar to the word, Atleast for me…
hey, look! there’s the rails… what say we get back on track?

But… but… Poland and Germany were just mentioned in the same sentence… this is a PERFECT opportunity for war jokes…
Sigh. I’ll refrain.
Look what your doing @SteveAdamo your tearing these forums apart!!!
What the heck is “Offtoping” something about off topic? No urban dictionary reference for offtoping. Just curious.
Of course I had to try it out when I got home from work, but to my sadness and joy it was the SHGTv2 that was downloaded through Steam. Joyful, because I know now that my link/code was valid and I now have it in my library. Shining brighter than all the other games on the list do together! Still a little sad, because it would have been so fun to get a sneak peak
Oh well, still on the positive side. I can hardly wait to do a formal and rightfully official “Stonehearth Alpha First Impressions” and throw it up on Youtube for everyone to enjoy
Got it!
EDIT: Graphics Test V2 :c
Anyone knows if the bug “GL_NO_ERROR” will be fixed for the release of the alpha?
Because my brother worries. He thinks he couldn’t play the alpha at the release.
well, it is one of the most referenced bugs in that forum, so odds are Radiant is working towards a resolution… fingers crossed! ![]()
So for those who are interested here is what already was working in the preview:
- there was a cool main menu screen with just a start button
- pressing this generated a new map (seemed to be the same seed every time)
- you had two mouse control tutorial messages at the top of the screen after the map loaded
- when performing the actions (camera control and moving around) the messages vanished
- after that you were encouraged to select a spot for the base camp
- on doing so you got 4 settlers and 4 berry bushes and a fireplace a settler was carrying
- after that you were encouraged to define a storage area
This concluded the guided actions.
What you could do after that was:
- select the fireplace from storage and place it in the world
- chop trees and collect wood
- build a carpenters workplace, define his drop area
- promote a settler to carpenter
- craft various items and place them in the world
Settlers would select from the actions you ordered them to do, the queue was working quite nicely.
When they had desires a speech bubble with symbol showed what they wanted.
Also a text message at the lower right would indicate more detailed wishes like the want to sit on a chair while eating, which gave food a greater effect.
My settlers used beds, chairs and the fireplace on their own.
Yes the day and night cycle was already active and working well
Funny effect was that the wood was not used up once when I was looking and a settler grabbed the log from within the fire and just put it in storage.
Another funny bug was a dislocated plate with food while eating on a chair.
Instead of being held in the hands the plate hovered at the back of the chair.
But all in all controls were very smooth, sure there are quite some bugs to be stomped out, but some fleshing out and maybe enabling construction of walls and rooms and it will be an awesome alpha already.
@sdee or @Tom I hope its okay for me to tell all this, if not I’ll redact my mini review.
Anyway I am quite happy that I saw this and was able to provide an emotional roller-coaster for all the fellow fanbois and gurls. Kudos for not going too much offtopic of this thread and for removing all media in a timely manner.
On another note: 11 days left! xD
You just posted that to rub it in didn’t you…
thanks for the brain-dump @PDanford!
the working bits sound great, and as you mentioned, toss in some construction, and we’re in business…
