Sooo I began watching Made In Abyss and the first thing that came into my mind was the similarities between the characters in the anime and the Hearthlings! Wandering if one is an inspiration for the other?

And also, the first volume of the Made in Abyss manga is from July, 2013. The Anime is from 2017.
Stonehearth’s Kickstarter - which already showed hearthlings and all that - is from May, 2013, so even if the Chibi style itself inspired them for the Hearthlings, it definitely wasn’t because of that particular series
