Playing with creating my own kingdom, I’ve noticed that the Northern Alliance and Ascendancy kingdom files are in “services/server/population/data/”, but the Rayya’s Children mod has the files in the base “data/”. From other things I’ve done (recipes), I know that it really doesn’t matter where you put the files as long as the path(s) lines up correctly across all files.

So is there a reason Rayya is in a different spot, or does it really not matter in the end?

It does not matter where you put your mod files, as long as you reference them correctly from your other files (either using aliases or full paths). I guess for RC we used a short path, since there was no need to replicate that long chain of directories.
