Please see twitch post #47 before reading this. I was thinking. The pets show up in the new shop right? Well perhaps non-backers could buy them, but for a cost of a hefty amount of gold (like thousands of coins). How would you get this? Well, every day, a bit after the update, you would get an message. This would allow you to transfer gold into the fund you have for the next game. However, to limit this, thanks to “shipping cost”, only a third of what you sent would actually go to your next games fund. Yay for no DLC! Also, on a side note, for this to work, the amount of money you get for selling wooden shields would obviously have to be nerfed, for this to work fairly and properly. Also, obviously, backers would get their pets for free still.
