Just wanted to update this; it’s hit $2,000,000! With 20 days to go, I think PS4 and Xbox One versions are a definite, at only $3.3mil stretch goal.

It’s like someone is stood there throwing money down upon them :anguished:

Project Phoenix looks to completely revitalize the crippled and dying JRPG genre with innovative combat and an epic story - 1 Mil over the entire period.

Mighty Number 9 wants to make ANOTHER Mega Man game (Seriously, we have 60 now that all play essentially the same) - 2 Mil with 20 days to go.

So… less popular topic by visionaries, versus bulletproof game concept by industry veterans that had quite a hand in those 60 titles.

Those “visionaries” are also industry veterans. Only difference is they want to create something new instead of sitting in the very center of their comfort zone rehashing something that’s we’ve seen 60 times before. :wink:

Oh well. Lord British got millions for his project and the the Project Eternity guys got like 4 million. So I guess there is still hope for humanity.

i agree with you, to an extent… but this group will have to bring something new to the party… surely the fans arent so starved that they’ll simply settle for MegaMan XCIII… :smile:

Personally I was more a fan of the Battle Network series since gameplay felt tactical. I agree with Dash that it seems like they’re just sitting in their comfort zone. If you watch the Kickstater video they do very little in the way of saying what they’ll add to freshen it up and make it new, they just say we’ll add modern elements. It’s all too vague for my liking but as I said before if you’re into it go for it, I just wouldn’t expect much more than Megaman. If you wanted a fresh action/platformer check out Rogue Legacy.

Just to update this again that with 8 days to go, it’s up to $2,426,494! This means @Thomas that you’ve got your Wii U version for definite :smile:

Unfortunately MegaMan was before my time…the first chance I’m going to get to play as MegaMan is on Super Smash Bros. :smile:

I was monumentally ticked when MegaMan Legends 3 was canceled.

I say my time, I mean any kind of gaming years, I would have been 10 then and although I gamed, it was only with games I had been bought really. So I’d say twas before my time, yeah :stuck_out_tongue:

Only just seen this, and indeedlydeediamarooni! I’ve seen somewhere (I think YouTube comments on some video) about saying spelt too? Apparently we change the past in places whereas you guys just slap an ‘ed’ on the end? Although ‘standed’ wouldn’t work so what do you guys say? :smile:

Just going to give this its last little bump as the project rapidly approaches the last 24 hours currently boasting a fairly healthy $3,132,932. I’m calling that they’ll scrape the $4mil mark. Still churning out stretch goals as they hit them, so by that prediction, it’ll be hitting a stretch goal not yet announced :smile:
