How many hearthlings do you get to before you start running into problems

im currently at 21 hearthlings and am having problems with getting them to path to food even though my machine can handle them just fine would like to gety a mega thread of how many heathlings other people get to before problems start appearing (problems like pathing issues not returning home to eat things like that

My last game of 20 I had a bunch of workers just standing around doing nothing when I had jobs lined up for them to do or houses to build. I might have to scale back to 19 or 18.

specs comparison? i pretty much made this thread to help the devs try and find what is causing the issue
my specs are

and 24 gb ram

8350
gtx 1060 6gb
16gb ram

edit: I can try playing on my other pc with slightly higher specs to see if I get better results.

no need ive had the same issue around 20 hearthlings on my old machine which was trash compared to this its specs were intel i 3 quad core gtx 560 ti 4 gb ram

you would think a machine that can handle ark survival evolved at max settings 60-90 fps should be able to have no problem with stonehearth 20 hearthlings

/summon @sdee @jomaxro and if you 2 could somon the other @teamradiant members i think this post will shed some light on where the game has major problems across all system types

Hey @dutchuss2016, I’m not a member of Team Radiant - just a community moderator. I’d love to help, but I’ve been away from the game for far too long to give any useful information (work has been keeping me busy).

yes i tagged you cause i dont know the other team radiant user names to tag them was hoping you could tag them for me

anupdate i am now up to 24 hearthlings and the game is starting to mess up storyline scripts the ogo skuullbonker army threatened to attack a week ago in game time and still hasnt spawnedand they have plenty of room to spawn

Pausing the game and waiting for most the bar to go mostly idle is the best temporary solution right now, it allows for your computer to process all the hearthlings’ actions and to spawn in enemies. As far as I can tell yellow is hearthings’ actions and dark blue is spawning entities in.

Long time no see stranger. Hope Work gets caught up and/or slows down enough by the time the building update comes up on unstable, so we can see you more often. We have missed you around here.

I usually stop playing at about 25-35 hearthlings and besides some minor hiccups, they function pretty well.

specs? for comparison to my machine

I’ll snag em for you when i get home for sure, will edit this post.

Edit:
Intel Core i7-5700 @ 2.70Ghz 2.70 Ghz
16 gigs of ram
Nvidia GTX 960m
Windows 10

Win10 1709
AMD FX-8350 8Core4.00 GHz w/ 16GB
Most I have had in Alpha 23 is 38. Digging is still probably the most consistent lag. When I get a new hearthling after about 30 or so the whole game pauses as it “builds” them out and puts them into the map.

3 ppl with the same processor as me lol

Steph said in a comment recently the slowdown/idling was to do with optimisation. As they add more features and stuff over time it means they need to do an optimisation coding crunch to try to get it running smoother and better with larger numbers of Hearthlings. So we’ll just have to be patient. I start to get idling and stuff at around 15 or more.

15 ouch mine arent ideling just refusing to eat and nearly starving to death (saving and reloading makes them eat first )

My problems start at around 20 hearthlings myself

Asus GTX 960 4gb Strix
Asus Sabertooth FX 990 R3.0
AMD FX 8350
32GB DDR3 RAM

I think it’s a mix of insufficient CPU power, higher minimum specs for Windows 10 and of course, the game itself just not being optimized very well yet. It only gets worse when you go above 20 hearthlings and you keep the play speed on 3-4 like I like to do.

therews a 4th 8350 which is actually a pretty high end processor its 8 cores 4 ghz so thats not the issue
