actually, for the PRICE, and don’t get me wrong I love AMD for that pricing they do so well, but for the PRICE as it is, the FX 8350 is a reallllly crap CPU. No joke because of the simple fact that even AMD themselves claimed that the 8350, their top tier CPU was a good match for Intels i5…you see the problem here??? their top FX chip…is a good match…for intels MID tier chip…that alone for me sets off red flags. Then on top of that, they made massive promises with the Bulldozer architecture that the 8150 was based on and improved with Piledriver, but even then it was around I think a 10-11% improvement on the Bulldozer-based FX CPUs? and before you say wow 10-11% improvement, that’s not a GOOD thing when you consider that the Bulldozer-based FX Cpu’s were no where near what they claimed they’d be, so that means that the 8350, which is based on the Piledriver architecture, is ALSO not near what it should be because it SHOULD be 10-11% better than what the 8150 SHOULD have been and not what it actually turned out to be.
so you see why, for the price, the 8350 is actually a bad buy??? I’m trying to save up to build a new rig using a Ryzen 5 1600X which is far far better for the money than the 8350 is.
So I’m actually working for Discourse now, the company that develops the software powering these forums! To be honest, my lack of activity here on Stonehearth is less about being too busy, and more the fact that my day job now revolves around Discourse. Previously I would finish classes for the day, or get out of work, and the Stonehearth forums were where I could go to relax, have fun, and enjoy the incredible community. Now being on Discourse sites all day for work it’s not exactly relaxing anymore to visit another site.
I’m always lurking around, don’t worry. One day I’ll start spending more time here again.
@Relyss do you think that 4 people who all have the same processor and only 1 of us can get over 20 hearthlings before issues accour is something to poke the devs for i thinks its odd i have the same 8350 as 3 other people here and im currently at 28 hearthlings on my current save with minimal problems (granted i have to play at 2x speed instead of 3x where im comfortable so things are much slower than im used to
