Long-time player, coming back to ACE after a while and seeing all the great new content!
Question: how do you get fireplaces to extend?
I’ve tried all sorts of clicks and drags and random keys, but nothing changes. I’ve tried searching the forum and reading the change log notes but can’t see anything (apologies if it’s obvious and I’ve missed it!).
Would be really helpful to list the hotkey for these commands in the description (took me ages to remember how to scroll through item skins).
Hey! The fireplaces (and any other extensible object) can be extended by clicking a button on their unit frame (the UI element on the bottom left of the screen that shows the object’s name, description and some other stuff):
It will only appear, however, after the object has been placed. So my guess is that you’re probably trying to figure out how to extend the chimney on ‘Build’ mode, or before it is placed! This would be very handy but also a bit tricky to make happen, therefore we’ve made it so you extend them after the building is complete and the object is placed

You’re welcome! It’s not the first time I’ve seen this small confusion, so I think I’ll improve the text on the recipes to make it clearer that the fireplace has to be placed first
