Summary:

Attempting to launch the game causes this little window to pop up.

Stonehearth.log:

[Paste your Stonehearth.log file here. The file is located in the game install directory. Default Steam location is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stonehearth]

This may or may not have been caused when I, like an idiot, closed my laptop while stonehearth was in the middle of launching yesterday, and had to force shut down when I opened it a few hours later to find it completely unresponsive. This might not be the cause, but hey, who knows.

I’m not exactly sure what it is supposed to look like, but my user_settings.json file is completely empty, unless I’m just opening it wrong.

You could try just deleting that file. I believe it is generated. Maybe make a back-up of it first.

This. Delete the user_settings.json. It will be re-created next launch of the game, and you should be good.
