Please can I suggest a new type of bed a double/king which would if sleep in by two heartlings of apposing gender result in a child. This could lead on to a school building and teacher roles.

ah, Hearthling reproduction. A hotly debated topic since before the first Alpha! I can see the pros and cons to this approach versus the immigration approach.

are you willing to wait for 18 in game years to go by for them to grow up? hahaha, I’ve never played a single game longer than the 3rd month.
Everything in the game is fairly accelerated though; people go from novices to master craftsmen in a couple of game weeks. So in game turns maybe they become an adult in 90 days or something.

There are some metagame problems with adding children to the game.
The main one being that if a game contains possible death of children (which Hearthstone would), it automatically becomes Mature rating or 18+ in most countries.
You can see this in some games like Oblivion/Skyrim, where they made children impossible to kill (unlimited HP) while other games like Morrowind removed children entirely.
This wouldn’t really work in Stonehearth because you’d potentially be left with a village overrun with undead/goblin hordes while invincible children went about their day.

That’s easy to fix - just give birth to adults. Except…
I kinda thought the hearthlings mostly all look like children now (just with pretend beards for some) because of their large wobbly heads, etc; so maybe the game needs an 18+ rating already.
