I think that some sort of system, as simple as the name of the Hearthling when the particular bed is selected.

In my opinion, I think it would help when transitioning from group sleeping quarters to a more specialised housing, as in, moving your workers to respective workshops. Then the unclaimed bed can be repurposed for new Hearthlings.
