It’s convenient to have a list of dead people, I guess.
And then a day later a funeral is held for them at the local church?
What an interesting discussion! I don’t know why I love the idea of Stonehearth ghosts…but I love the idea of Stonehearth ghosts
This discussion has gotten us all to think in a morbid way… someone talk about how people will be born!
Speaking of that… there could be a stinger for that too!
the joke in there is so ripe for the taking… i think it best we all just walk away, and pretend none of this ever happened…
but yes… i agree with the suggestion!
I assumed children were built like buildings: piece by piece, one block at a time with scaffolding? No?
Seriously speaking though, what an idea! Keep em coming!
Don’t do it, Steve! Prove you are a true moderator!
I’m not seeing it. Care to tell? (Sorry, @Swift_Cube)
Oooo! I was wondering when we’d be treated to a music update, and apparently it was the day I went away anyway, really nice stuff! I feel like Raj and Doug need some team name so that I can worship that name every sunrise
Actually this was a question I was meaning to ask for my soundtrack mod…it’s easy enough to guess what spring, summer and autumn should feel like in such a cutesy game anyway, but with winter I came to somewhat of a dilemma. The obvious root would be to go for very harsh, bitter sounds, perhaps throw in some IRL icy wind sounds (I doubt I could do that myself mind), however Stonehearth’s so warm and cuddly and…and…would that actually fit? I don’t know…I guess it’s a question of balance? I just feel like perhaps there might be a different way to represent winter, and if there is, what it is? Since everyone here seems to be bouncing round good ideas already. Or whether people did think the obvious way is the best one? Thoughts?
Hey @Smokestacks, good to see you adding to this conversation. I think it’s very possible to give Stonehearth a winter musical vibe without it being too harsh or bitter. I think of things like sleigh bells, shakers, brass horns, etc… I’m sure @Raj can add a bit more to this.
That’s really awesome that you play trombone! I personally was brought up playing the piano as my main instrument, but also play violin and accordion.
I’m not a musician, but when I think of Wintery music in this sort of thing I always think of slightly slower pieces, like you’re reserving your energy for the reawakening that is Spring
Oooh…well aren’t glad I asked. hurries back to Sibelius
Just to add to this, whilst the games are rather different, Animal crossing handles music transition amazingly, every hour of the day has different music, and this changes I believe depending upon the weather/ season.
Never played animal crossing, I’ll give it a try for music reference, thank you.
This might be what @Geoffers747 said: Animal Crossing: City Folk - Full Day Music
I hadn’t heard that, but I have no doubt that it demonstrates what I mean perfectly
Also this @Doug
This is the music that plays from 7am to 8am normally: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHskPDrg-fQ

How adorable is that little song! haha. Thanks for this Geoffers, it’s excellent.
That 2nd song for the winter version has adorable bell sets, and glockenspiels!
All of it is adorable

Gesundheit!
I’m looking forward to hearing your take on a “charming” winter song… sleigh bells and shakers will certainly give it the wintery feel, without having to be oppressive or somber… can’t wait!
