Desktop Tuesday June 18

… well, seems like this is another fanpage which has just started and as they are hosting the Wiki, they get a small coverage. I don’t think there is more than that behind.

you’re probably right… and i do applaud their efforts (loving the background image)!

but for me (unfortunately) the site is partially blocked by my corporate firewall (something about “active content”)… sighs

… so far you did not miss too much, as the page is pretty empty :disappointed:.

Same here, although for me it’s desktop tuesday night!

Well it looks like you came the closest Congrats

whats the link to the live-stream or where its gonna be broadcasted at least so i can bookmark it

there isnt an associated livestream associated for this particular update… but the generic archive can be found here

Maybe this has already been said, I dunno, I don’t haunt the place but I had a thought with this one…

What if the way buildings works was you’d drag out an area for a building to be built in and that would pop up a blue print.

Then in the blueprint screen, you would build voxel by voxel your building, and it would display a materials cost, of what you would need (wood, metal, stone an so forth) and when you were finished, your builders would go.

This would allow the ultimate amount of creativity, and keep with the mechanic of watching those little guys go!

Or maybe not, who knows.

And that, as they say, is that.

its sounds awesome, but i think it would take a lot of work to implement (considering that the AI should be coordinated to build the houses), anyway even if this would be in the game there is a need for a simpler version for people that dont want to get into something like that.
i think that there is no need for this to be there initially, and even if the developres wont add it into the game it could be a great mode.

I agree. I doubt this would be a part of the core game because its a bit complex and probably overwhelming for new players, but I could see this being a popular mod for more advanced/creative players.

No

The simple reason behind that is that that is essentially a recoded, weakened form of qubicle. The better version would be to just mod in extra building types and create them in something that is designed for editing with voxels. Think of it as the difference between making pixel art in minecraft and making pixel art using specialised dedicated software and then importing into minecraft, the second way is faster, simpler, and more powerful.

Why hasn’t the Stream Start yet? anyone know?

sorry my friend… there is no live stream currently planned… today’s numerous updates made no mention of one… but we had some excellent news regardless, right?

Agreed Thank You @SteveAdamo I would of gone insane and thought I missed the stream.
P.S. Do you happen to know when the next stream is though?
Thank You!!!

Wish there was a livestream, but I understand that we can’t have them all the time. They’re just so interesting and I love how our input actually effects their ideas/designs to some extent.

nothing official has been announced, but team radiant (read @Tom) does enjoy having the sessions… who knows how often we’ll have them, but i would imagine at least once a month is a fair guess…

there’s an effort to make them a little more focused, to not only help @Tom, but the community as well, get the most from each session…
