So my Carpenter has a Leather Bound Chest to store all of his furniture in. The only issue is that you can’t go to the contents of the chest click on the desired furniture and click “Place item”. It is very annoying and the only way to deploy your furniture is to put the filter in the chest to none and let your hearthlings bring all the furniture to a stockpile.
Except it is not. 
You can simple press P to open the 'P’lacement menu. Or open the same menu by opening the build tab at the bottom and clicking the chair button.

You can use hotkey ‘P’ to open a panel that allow you to put things on the ground. (I forgot which button, but it’s under the building function.)
