Can't select roster

I have got some problems with the buttons.
Only after restarting I could use the “Select roster” button.
I wanted to change my Hearthlings in the roster but after pressing the dice once, it stoped “working”.
But it did not really stop, I could start my village and saw then that my Hearthlings got randomized.
The button itself seemed to work but the game gave me no feedback at all.

And shouldn’t be the new editor in this build?

@groms do you have the stonehearth.log from when that issue in the select roster screen happened? Could you upload it?

And nope, the new building editor is not ready yet. Not sure that it will make it for A23, but rest assured once it’s ready we’ll push something for you, either in an unstable build, or in a special branch. We’ll see.

This should be the log, I did not start a new game after that.

This is restarting Stonehearth? Or did you reload the UI or went back to main menu then tried again a New Game?

I could not press the roster selection → restarted stonehearth
I could not randomize my hearthlings and got an error when entering the world (choose settlement) and I had to reload the ui(F5)

Update.
I had the reroll bug again but updating the UI (F5) fixed it for a couple of rerolls.

Could you paste your computer specs? (CPU, RAM, Graphic card, OS)
Seems like something is making your UI slow.

If you have the new stonehearth.log that’d be appreciated. There was a UI error on the one you uploaded, but I couldn’t relate it to any of our files, the trace only mentioned the jquery libraries

And lastly, could you check the integrity of your game files in Steam just in case?

Thank you very much. We have a fix that might prevent this from happening, will go in the next unstable release, let us know if it helps.
(Haven’t been able to repro on our end yet, but another user in Steam also reported this).

Just to +1 this, I just ran into the same symptoms. I restarted the game after the “Exit to Main Menu” button in the new game wizard didn’t do anything. The second time around I made it through the wizard, only to have the UI freeze while loading the game after selecting a spawn location of a new game.

Log of the second attempt to start a new game:

Third attempt locked in the same place as the second one, though the loading status bar got farther along.

I’m having this issue as well. Rerolling works a few times. However after a few rerolls of either/both individual and complete roster rerolls the dice buttons are faded like what happens when you click on them but they don’t un-fade again. After that the dice cannot be clicked again and you cannot select a roster.

Press F5 for reload UI, it should work.

Here’s an error message I just got. I started the game, had just accepted a roster, and immediately got this. The top line was in red.

2017-12-05 06_43_30-Stonehearth err

I’ll chime in and agree that I’ve seen this when starting my games. I had to hit F5 many times before finishing the selection of my hearthlings. It can be quite annoying.

Hey guys, are you still seeing this error in the latest build?

Just started a new game again, this time rayaas children. I rerolled significantly more times before it happened again. I lost count how many times I hit the dice. Reloading the ui fixed it

Summary:
Starting a new game in unstable release 767. After picking my starting location on the map and beginning the game I get an error and a black screen. Hitting reload ui gets me to the loading screen that is stuck at 0% “Generating World” and does not progress at all. Hitting f5 to reload the ui again does not fix it.

This only happened once though, when i tried to make another settlement after starting again it worked. I just thought I’d report this.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Selected citizens after a bunch of rerolling
  2. Selected my settlement placement on the map after a bunch of rerolling
  3. Start the game

Expected Results:
Start a settlement

Actual Results:
Don’t even get to the world at all, get an error on a black screen and reloading ui gets me to the loading screen but I get zero progress on the loading bar. Waited a good 5 minutes and reloaded the ui again.
