Hi everyone, i have been thinking about this for awhile now and i want to know peoples opinion on bridges. I would like to hear other peoples opinion on how they would work and what buffs they would produce. maybe people could make so designs on quiblical constructor!
P.S this is my first page on the forum so please don’t judge
Ive always wanted bridges i just think i was to lazy to make a topic but the only problem we have is we don’t have water but with the new mining update coming soon alpha 7. we could make massive caverns and then make bridges from one end to make a really dwarven look to it only problem is probably is constructing them that would take forever
I never actually thought how to build over water without your villagers falling into the water, maybe it would give your villagers debuffs if they walk in deep water.
And another potential problem is that who would buid it?
Would it be the mason, traditionaly masons would of done that kind of job, howvere, that doesn’t seem to fit in with what i’ve seen of the mason from livestreams
like really slow or they die because the river is too strong, but then we would need to get fully in-depth in the water mechanics so how strong water is. but when we do have to build bridges over a river i think you need to throw stones into a river until you have a path and then start building the supports on the stone path but bridges and water will get really complicated. SO lets just stick to building bridges in underground caverns for now I’m too tired to think of water bridge mechanics.
it has to be a labourer (or anew class of professional labourer) it could be a monk or a new class of architect
well i think there should be a new class called the architect which lets you build bridges and different designs so like arch bridges etc.) and then workers just do the rest of the building
I guess some kind of special scaffolding could work. I think in the old ages bridges were build after another temporary bridge was build as scaffolding i think.
I believe so or it could be some kind of a rope they throw over so to balance the wooden bridge and then make the actual bridge but for underground caves they just use normal scaffolding.

It’s in the dev’s to-do-list already, @Dan not knowing makes sense because he only joined 3hrs ago (@Gridnick, do you read the threads?)
is it which threads

Genius!
stop flattering me
i believe this is a thread bout the architect Architect Class? also @dwarf can you check if they have the architect class already planned by going into the stone hearth job files
I think water is going to be one of my favourite things about stone hearth as its so diverse and has so much capability but it won’t start being developed by the devs till post apha 12

Yeah, there’s a post in the jobs thread, I think. I bookmarked it but I can’t remeber where I get my bookmarks (now who’s the noob)
