hey, i’ve tried everything suggested by the other threads regarding this problem, but nothing seems to work for me. my .log is way shorter then others but i can’t read it :(. to me it seems like a problem with lua, but maybe someone can help me figure out what the problem is.

Black screen on launch is usually caused by security software. If you’re still having problems after updating, check this list of programs and let us know what security software you’re running:
If @BrunoSupremo’s suggestion to update your game, and @Albert’s linked topic doesn’t solve the issue, could you please upload your crash.dmp for us to review? Assuming you installed via Steam, that file would be located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stonehearth.
@jomaxro - Black screen is a sign that the Stonehearth client is hanging and can’t connect to the (local) server. Since it’s just waiting around and the player manually closes it, it generally won’t have a crash dump.
That’s too bad - I thought that lavasoft was usually viewable via a dump - did that cause a crash and not a black screen? (It’s been a while since I’ve seen a lavasoft related error.)
sorry for being unclear. as i said (kinda unclear) i tried evertything that was already suggested. i updated my drivers, i don’'t have any lavasoft ad-aware running. i updated my game, to alpha 18, and still get the same results.

It still looks like some program on your system is blocking the Stonehearth client. If you dump your process list from Task Manager alphabetically, I can take a look and see if anything is suspicious.
@Albert thanks for your response. just when i was about to start the game to deliver you the information you asked for, the game magically worked :). i don’t know if it’s because of an update or something, or maybe something with my system but i’m really glad that it finally works!
