This has already been discussed, and the devs are in talks with the guys over at Minddesk about what can be done about this as currently you would have to buy a copy. If you’re looking to purchase it because you enjoy it and want to own it then I’d say go for it!
Otherwise you could just wait and see what happens in regards to different edtions or discounts for owners of Stonehearth.
I’ll just copy in some parts from around the forum regarding this:
Qubicle Constructor
I use the Master Edition of this program, because I need to export data both to get the model into Stonehearth and to animate using 3DS Max. The Master Edition is $79. Apparently at some point I said that you could use the free version of the program to make mods for Stonehearth, but if I did that is NOT correct. You can use the free version to play around with voxels, but the free version does not support exporting data.
We are in the very early stages of defining tools, and will let you know more when we’ve nailed down some plans. We would like to find a way for you to use Qubicle Constructor, maybe with a special Stonehearth edition. Such a program would probably not be free, since the people ad minddesk need to eat too
Hey guys,
this is Tim from minddesk. I am the lead developer of Qubicle and I just wanted to say thanks for all the great feedback! If you’ve got any questions about Qubicle feel free to ask. I will try to come back here on a regular basis.
What I can’t say anything about at the moment is a possible co-operation with radiant while we are negotiating it. I guess that’s obvious. What’s perfectly obvious too is that you don’t want to pay 79 bucks to mod a game that costs much much less. The price list at minddesk is 2 years old and has nothing to do with Stonehearth whatsoever.
There will be a solution for this, making everybody happy. How this will look like, let’s wait and see. In the meantime I will enjoy any new model you are posting here.
Have fun with Qubicle!
Cheers, Tim
