[ACE Mod] Composting [1.1]

Hello there! :merry:
Welcome to the thread of the infamous poop mod - [ACE Mod] Composting!

DESCRIPTION

[ACE Mod] Composting, also known as “The Poop Mod”, aims to give even more options for your farming enhancement while also adding some humorous new mechanic: pasture animal pooping. Or ahem manure. This mod will allow your herbalist to use composting bins to treat organic matter into compost which can then be used for fertilizers.

The mod idea itself is very simple and is mostly for adding something fun and somewhat cute (even if a little weird as well)

CONTENTS

COMPOSTING BIN

The Composting Bin can be created by the Herbalist and operated by anyone with hauling capabilities. Different items can be placed in it: manure, rotten foodstuffs or crafted mulch made from fresh veggies - and over time they will become compost which can then be directly used for crafting larger compost chunks or fertilizers. In the future, there might be other uses for compost.

MANURE

Additionally, pasture animals will now digest food and give it back to you… as manure. Manure can come in various sizes and can be directly taken to a Compost Bin for, well, composting. The manure your animals produce depends on their feeding habits; well fed animals tend to produce larger and better manure while animals relying on grass or basic fodder shall disappoint you with smaller droppings. The maximum size of an animal’s “production” is limited by their species, however. (ie: Only Moo-moos can provide large manure)

MANURE DRYING RACK

The Herbalist can also craft a rack that allows you to dry manure or compost into their dried versions that can be used as fuel. Small Manure and Manure will be transformed into Dry Manure, a lower grade fuel; Bits o’ Compost will be transformed into Dry Bit o’ Compost, also a lower grade fuel; Chunk o’ Compost will be transformed into Dry Chunk o’ Compost, a good grade fuel.

PLANNED FEATURES

There are no planned features for expanding this mod, although suggestions are always welcome.
I also plan to, of course, keep it updated with any new ACE developments; for example, if ACE adds new recipes that might use compost, I’ll definitely add support for them as well.

COMPATIBILITY

[ACE Mod] Composting requires the Dani’s Core Mod and the Authorized Community Expansion (ACE) to function.

Dani’s Core Mod:
Steam Workshop / Direct Download (Older versions)

Stonehearth ACE:
Steam Workshop / Direct Download (Older versions)

This mod should be compatible with all other mods unless they override animal feeding
actions.

LOCALIZATION

This mod is completely compatible with Stonehearth’s localization, it is in English (en) by default but also includes a Brazillian Portuguese (pt-BR) translation.

The fire lizards made it into the game, right? Cause in that case, suggestion: make them leave lava manure that can be looted and turned into lava compost (in stone composting bins) that is required to grow some volcano plant (or chili?) that’s used for some late game stuff, like a potion, napalm stew, explosive cookies or something like that.
If there are other elemental creatures there could be similar things for them.

If you’re using ACE, disable SmartCrafter.

^ what Paul said is true, this mod is an ACE mod (it requires ACE) and ACE has its own Smart Crafter system so you should remove Smart Crafter, it’s not a Composting mod issue, it’s a compatibility issue

Could there be set that all animals produce manure by default? Since i have an modded animal(dromedary) and its weird since its only animal that dont produce manure.

If I recall correctly, Wouter did set up his mod to work with composting
Make sure the dromedaries are eating proper food, animals that only eat grass or cheap food are less likely to poop

Ok thanks :merry:

Also thanks for making this awesome mod :jubilant:!

If you craft Dromedary feed and it still doesn’t work much, try messaging Wouter, he’ll want to have that fixed
