the mining block function allows you to drag and select an area, but only in the x-z plane.
it would be nice if the same thing can be done in x-y and y-z plane

Isn’t that what the precision mining tool is for?
no, that just allows for smaller blocks, not the ability to mine the up or down.
im pretty sure there is another thread for this, give me a sec to search for it and merge.
