2477 Some farmers stand around not farming

Portion of farmers stand around for long periods of time not farming when there is farming to do.
their backpacks are empty.

I’ve noticed in my own games that only two farmers work, the rest just idles or restocks stockpiles.

hmm… then perhaps they are the same as footmen, when footmen dont have “anything” to do (if you have more then 2 footmen i believe) they will sometimes go gather resources. or that used to be the case at least, it may have been fixed now.

I’ve seen this behavior too, I think it may have something to do with how many farmers you have, and how many farm plots you have. Could it be that the AI is possibly using a team-based model now (like crafters in a future patch), and maybe the problem is very complex when you have five or six farmers?

I have 12 10x10 plots and 6 farmers

it might be the opposite, when “team thinking” is introduced we might run into less of these problems

28 10x5 plots and 6 farmers, is mine.

I dunno, I feel like they changed something, as I’ve been building the same exact settlement pretty much since they added custom buildings and this is the first time I’ve seen the farmers having this issue. I’m getting error messages too, which to me at least imply a team AI involved. Something about task_groups.

well if your getting error messages perhaps you should take a screenshot and post it here…

I was going to post the error, I just had to open the game first.

develop-2477 (x64)
stonehearth/services/server/town/town.luac:54: attempt to index field '_task_groups' (a nil value)

The thing is, the farmers aren’t always frozen. It seems to come and go.
