I hope it is Today XD
@Switch …ummm… what?
@krq2000 I think it’ll be a surprisingly complete build. Everythign will be there, except for some more substantive elements. For example, there may not be a whole lot of quests designed for the game, or our selection of items (such as beds and the like) might be lacking. But between the modding community and hte developers, it’ll fill real quick.
I mean, hell, the Alpha/pre-Alpha they’re working with now looks very well polished!
They stated that potentially the Beta could be considered the finished game as they planning on continuing work on it after release. Of course there will still probably be the “Full Game” release as well, but most likely Betateers will only view it as the next patch release, be it a large one, of course.
I’m thinking the beta will be the full version of the game in a “playable” sense. It just may lack all of the “random” game events they want / some monsters / or even missing some biomes.
Which would be fine by me because then we could help suggest what thing we would like, the community can start making mods/stuff and they can always see about using community stuff to be added into the game.
My guess is that it will have the basic game engine but a minimum of detail. i.e., building, farming, combat, etc., will be in, but there might not be more than a couple buildings to build or plants to plant etc. initially. We’ll see in a few months, with luck.
@Cronus I actually disagree that it will lack much of anything. The difference will be the amount of diversity in the world.
And maybe a few missing biomes. Or at least, lack of diversity within biomes. For example, all forest, grasslands, and glacier biomes will have three “wild” enemies: bats, wolves, and goblins. That’s not very fun, but they’ll patch in the complexities later.
I honestly think that most things will be there like the house models and stuff but it might not have as many encounters with monsters or big encounters also there will be bugs! (like all betas well most) I still think it will be great and as they make small updates everything will improve i really can’t wait till beta!!!
we have a confirmation now that the team is looking to have solid building and crafting systems in place for the beta…
the other pieces of awesome will slowly trickle in from then until release (and even post release)…
Im hoping a combat system will be in the beta because just building can get really boring really quickly
oh, combat will definitely be in the beta, its just a matter of when… perhaps not at the onset, but certainly well before the public release… given that the intent of the beta is to iron out any problem with existing systems, and improve/evolve them before release…
Ill be happy if its just the combat from the kickstarter video because I am really itching to pwn some goblins just watching inthelittlewood playing cubeworld isnt doing it for me!!!
I think crates will be in the beta. That’s right, CRATES! You non believers! -returns to rocking backwards and forwards in his chair.
given that modding will be front and center, and given your apparent crate fetish, then yes… they will make a big showing, im quite sure of that…
Funnily enough I heard them mention crates in one of the livestreams…
