The “could not find path for lua script” is ok. That’s just an annoying artifact from probing for multiple modules.
@not_owen_wilson should check the build on the Intel driver though, which I suspect could be the problem (on our end, assuming the drivers are up to date).

I downloaded the Intel Auto updater that was linked on the website and it cannot find anything for me to download…

@Murphitis - Sorry you ran into trouble so early. Can you try this? In the folder where you have stonehearth.json, create a file called user_settings.json with this text:
{
"renderer" : {
"use_high_quality" : false
}
}
I think that Intel driver may be having problems with the high-quality renderer.

I already have a user_settings.json file and it is set to false on that file…
Okay I tried adding what you sent me into a file by itself. My new log is this upon crash:

@Murphitis I’m in the same boat as you. Seems like a lot of people are recommending changing code in the user_settings.json file, except all of my user settings are located in a file called stonehearth.json .
For myself, I’ll try and open hearthstone, and all that happens is stonehearth.exe is active for a split second in task manager, then it cancels and nothing happens, not even an error sign.
I was hoping the lastest update would fix that but it seems like it didn’t. Fill me in if you find a solution.

stonehearth.json.
i believe that stonehearth.json and user_settings.json are similar but actually different…

user_settings.json is meant to be a player modifiable file that augments / overrides the settings in stonehearth.json. Murphitis was able to run it on a desktop machine, but we’ll need @not_owen_wilson to see why the renderer won’t start with these Intel drivers.

Hmm. I managed to find your crash dump in our database, and I see lots of references to LavaSoft WebCompanion in the crash stack. Looks like this is some anti malware that’s getting a bit confused by our built-in chrome browser. I suspect disabling this should fix the problem, but I’ll see what we can do on our side to get around this.

8BitCrab:
there should be more
Not necessarily, as the game didn’t fully start.
The standard settings get populated a while after.
You shouldn’t change your user_id, that’s true, but if you delete the whole file it will be re-created again when you reopen the game (not sure if with the same user_id - I think it’s with a different one, but it’s not really that relevant as long as you know your user_id when you have crashes).
Also, @Murphitis , I’d recommend to set your screen resolution in the user_settings file, that way you ensure it’s the same (plus setting fullscreen to false).
And following @not_owen_wilson suggestion, of course !!

Hmm, the only anti-malware program on this thing is Webroot (not my choice) and I shut it down. Now I can Load to the main menu before crash.
No worries though, I am able to play on my desktop and have already logged around 20 hours. Great game, can’t wait for the next update!

Welcome to the forum, @willisway
Have you tried updating your graphic drivers manually (from the manufacturer’s website)?
Thank you!
Yeah, I’ve been emailing the development team trying to find a fix. So far, nothing, but I’ve got my fingers crossed.
a fix.
do you have Service Pack 1 installed?
