I personally think his hat should be a darker colour - and for some reason I envisage him wearing a brown coat … probably just me. But I like it

#3

Well the hat is meant to be straw :stuck_out_tongue: kinda hard to find a good color for that, and I wanted this guy to seem like he just came from a port so I went with some sea colors but that’s a good Idea I’ll make some colors darker and see what happens thanks.

#4

Ya see, if you’d put he’d come from a port, then I would have said the colours were good then!

Although the back of the hat doesn’t seem quite right …

Try one that’s darker and post it here!

#5

Not sure what you mean by darker but here is it deep grey.http://i.imgur.com/3IZ0Ouu.gif

Oh and the hat is meant to be a fedora.

#6

What is everyone’s obsession with fedoras?! I think the darker hat looks better, if he was coming from a port perhaps a straw hat would be better?

#7

Looks awesome man!
i like both actually the darker and the lighter one!

#8

Not sure if it’s “the right” color, but the deep grey is better. Personally, I just don’t think a travelling tradesman would have a straw hat. Also, it’s hard to tell but I think the brim is quite squareish? Maybe make it a bit wider and rounder?
A thing you could try is to let the part of the strap for the bag that goes under the arm attach a little lower on the bag, so it leaves more room for the arm and don’t go straight back.
Other than that I think it looks good.

#9

Thanks for all the advice guys! I’m more then likely going to turn that guy into two different people one with a wide straw hat and the other with a dark fedora. On another note I need a bit of input on how to make a sling bag for this fellow.http://i.imgur.com/hFUx33H.gif

#10

Hello all, just finished spliting the guy into two people tell me what you think:http://i.imgur.com/dRjTyXi.gif ,http://i.imgur.com/e6XlxHI.gif

#11

the second one with the red is much better, he looks sharp and trendy

#12

Just finished a rough draft of a cart it still has a long way to go, if you have any ideas on how to improve it feel free to share! http://i.imgur.com/Q9jSbaR.gif

#13

You seem to have a good shape there, although it does seem a little on the large side? I’m not sure maybe it’s just the perspective.

As for improvements, I think you definitely need to work on the colours, at the moment it’s just a solid single brown, use different shades to create more depth and definition to your object?

#14

how do you make the models btw? really keen!

#15

Minor change, but could you make the wheel spokes darker/brighter, it would define the wheel better
And maybe more of them

@jollins You might find it beneficial to check out a couple of the livestreams relating to creating the models - specifically the [urlhttp://www.twitch.tv/radiantentertainment/b/401398404] magma smith and the [urlhttp://www.twitch.tv/radiantentertainment/b/407350924]dragon whelp.

@CGBeauty has put up a pretty cool guide as well [urlhttp://discourse.stonehearth.net/t/even-with-voxels-there-s-always-a-step-1-blueprints/414]here .

And everyone is posting their creations in [urlhttp://discourse.stonehearth.net/t/qubicle-creations/117] this thread . darm, its not MAC compatable. I have a windows laptop but it can barely run its self. There isnt a MAC port available is there? thanks for the links btw

@jollins Unfortunately there is no Linux-Version of Qubicles. However, it seems like it can run under Wine. Depending on which Apple-Computer you have, you might also to think about using Dual-Boot and install a Windows-Partition on it.
