Sudden game crash with lots of people
Summary:
When i am playing the game as normal and i hit around 12 to 16 people, the game start to lag from all the people and possible all of the buildings. I have around 8 buildings as well and 4 chickens along with a trapper who got 3 pet foxes last i checked.
Steps to reproduce:

  1. Build around 8 buildings, maybe 10.
  2. Get up to 16 Hearthlings, 3 or 4 pets and 4 chickens.
    3)Keep playing until the game starts to shudder and eventually, crashing.

Hey there @Sgtjacques, welcome to the Discourse! Sorry to hear about the game crash.

Can you confirm what version of the game you have, and upload your stonehearth.log and crash.dmp from your install folder to the site for diagnosis? My guess is that due to the memory leak in the latest version of Alpha 13 your game is crashing when it runs out of memory, but I cannot be certain.

I’m using version 0.13.0 Release 491. i would upload the attachment but im still a new user and it won’t let me so im going to type out the stonehearth.log. I’ll try to keep it as neat as possible because i know how hard it is to read sloppy code lol.

As for the crash.dmp, im not going to even try to put that on here until i can upload it.

The crash is because the game ran out of memory in the 32-bit client. Can you enable 64-bit or are you running 32-bit Windows?

I’m running a 64 bit system but the game actually runs longer and better in the 32 bit mode for me for some reason. It seems that the 64 bit just speeds up how fast it crashes.

If you decide to play 64-bit and get a crash, post the log here and we’ll take a look. Otherwise, saving and loading periodically will help.
