So I’ve had Stonehearth since it came to Steam and its been alright and has run smoothly. When Alpha 10.5 came out it was a bit buggy and thats when it first crashed. It’s been happening more and more recently and it’ll just start to lag a bit then the whole screen will freeze but the sound will keep going. Everytime this happens I have to restart my computer. I love this game but I can’t play more than 30 minutes at a time. I have Windows 8.1, 8 GB Ram, Intel I.7 Processor. The computer is maybe 2 years old and I have the Nvidia Experience control panel which says my drivers are up to date. What exactly can I do in this situation?
@GizmoAssault - We can start by talking a look at the stonehearth.log file from a game that crashed. Also, let us know if there’s a crash.dmp file there too.
I can’t access my computer right now but how would I access the log file and crash dump file?
It should be in the folder where stonehearth is installed.
If you’re on Steam you can:
- Right click stonehearth in your library
- Select ‘Properties’
- Select the ‘Local Files’ tab
- Select ‘Browse Local Files’
Ok I finally found the stonehearth.log file. Unfortunately it won’t let me upload it because it is over 9000 KB bigger than the allowed size. How should I go about uploading it? There also isn’t a crash dump file.
Do you have a dropbox folder? Otherwise you can email it to contact@radiant-entertainment.com and we’ll see if a file that big makes it in.
Ok, I have emailed it to you guys. Thanks for all the help so far!
Ok, I see the error in the log:

Can you send us the save game as well? Thanks!
Sure! This has happend multiple times with different saves.
Do you have a failing save on the Alpha 11 branch? We changed a lot of scaffolding code since Alpha 10.5 that it’s hard to see if the same problem exists.
I had at least 2 failing saves on the latest branch and since they had so many problems I just went back to the most recent version.
