start Anthology 1, then you can kinda switch between them as you go along? 
If you think about when and where each of the stories are set you can have bits of one tie into the others, ie grand children or the children of the characters in the anthology could pop up in the books and legendary weapons can be talked/ joked about in one, and found and used in the other.
