hey there @NasalEye, welcome to the discourse

sorry to hear the game is crashing for you. from looking at the log it appears it might be crashing due to a firewall or such, perhaps check this thread and see if you have any of the listed programs installed,

http://discourse.stonehearth.net/t/crashing-on-start-read-this-updated-november-29/13297?u=8bitcrab

I checked the firewall and it’s off and I don’t have any of the programs installed

i can’t check the crash.dmp, so i’m going to page @Albert, he can probably find the cause of the crash.

Hi @NasalEye
The error causing the crash is Could not find an open port to host Stonehearth!: open: The requested service provider could not be loaded or initialized.

I typed that error “The requested service provider could not be loaded or initialized.” into google and got this page as the first result: Windows Update service unable to start, Error 0x8007277a Solved - Windows 7 Help Forums

The post suggests:

This could be an issue with third party winsock. You can reset winsock. Here’s how you can do it.

1.Click the Windows Start button.

  1. Type Cmd in the Start Search text box and press Ctrl-Shift-Enter (keyboard shortcut to run Command Prompt as Administrator). Click Continue to allow elevation request.

  2. Type netsh winsock reset in the Command Prompt shell, and then press the Enter key.

  3. Type netsh int ipv4 reset in the Command Prompt shell, and then press the Enter key.

  4. If you use ipv6, type netsh int ipv6 reset in the Command Prompt shell, and then press the Enter key.

Note: you may need to run Network Diagnostics afterwards to “repair” your connection after this.

Hope this helps!
