Stairs Inside Buildings with new builder

With the old builder, I used to leave small holes in the floors of my second, third, etc levels so that I could put a set of stairs up to the next floor. With the new room system (which I love) I can’t figure out a way to remove part of the floor without removing the whole room, which means all stairs must now be exterior stairs. Am I missing something?

hole tool. cut a hole after you designed the floor. (the icon looks a bit like window of sorts?)
