Sound is occasionally unhooking when I alt-tab

Summary: Somewhat rarely, when I alt-tab the game sound seems to “unhook” and doesn’t appear in Windows volume mixer.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Alt-tab out of the game.

Actual Results:
Sound stops and “unhooks” from Windows. Game continues to run but without sound.

Notes:
This doesn’t happen every time I alt-tab. I think it’s probably happened once out of every 30 times I’ve alt-tabbed, so it’s a “sometimes” bug (the best kind!)

I often switch between headphones (when I want to be on Discord with friends) and speakers (when I’m just doing stuff by myself), and Stonehearth doesn’t adjust: I just have no sound and have to restart the game if I want sound.

I also have the sounds sometimes just not happening issue, even when I don’t alt-tab, re starting the game is usually the sollution

Hi Relyss. No, it isn’t hidden on the right side. That’s the first thing I checked!

As @Wouter_Sikkema said, restarting the game is the solution. It’s possible this isn’t related at all to my alt-tabbing, but that’s what I have attributed to it as it’s when I noticed the issue. I alt-tab quite frequently because I tend to multitask!

I’ll let you know here if I discover anything further.

Yeah in my case it’s more of a “the sound doesn’t start like 40% of the time” when I boot the game. And a restart (of the game) always fixes it
