It is always a great idea to read when the comment is from
Especially when i just necroed the thread.
The Bay 12 forums have a DF section, which includes a legends section for particularly impressive stuff - can always check there .
I just found this one: Keydimpled it is by the sam author as Glazedcoast
Ilral himself hates the very idea of friendship, so that’s a great quality to have in the only guy in the fort holding an axe.
My recommendation is to check the Bay12 Hall of Legends. One of my favorites in there has to be Nist Akath, which I have been rereading. 264 pages.
Ah yeah, Captain Ironblood <3 .

Easier reading than wading through the better part of 300 pages I think (as the old compilation site is down) .
Just want to remind everyone that a succession game is still an option, and we can name the fortress:
STONEHEARTH!
Welcome to the deep end Kiddos!
I am really tempted to have this as my desktop background…
That reminds me:
Bronzestabbed, from somethingawful.com…
MORE STORIES!!! YAY!!!
(I think @Teleros might be some sort of DF story santa)
I think I just threw up a little…
You know what? Here are all the ones I have links to.
- One LP to rule them all: Boatmurdered
- Headshoots, from whence the Spawn of Holistic came
- Syrupleaf, sequel to Headshoots
- Glazedcoast, where it rains snot ooze
- Keydimpled, from the overseer who gave us Glazedcoast
- Nist Akath, home of the legendary Captain Ironblood
- Roadtrussed, images from a successful fortress
There you go …
I started an LP the other day… then realized once again how freaking much time DF takes.
I guess If I do one… it would be the slowest LP ever.
If you’re posting it anywhere, please provide a link!
Indeed. Reading about another poor DF player’s descent into madness and tantrum spirals is always good fun .
How about we all start a succession game…
If you want to, start here:

Latest newbie-friendly starter pack. Just make sure someone with experience starts, so that at least you can wall off the outer world, get farms started, etc.
I have played before, Thank you very much! I still need to figure out metalworking though…
So much to relearn, so little time! I might be keen to do this, depending on my schedule for this month.
Working in haunted houses is a surprisingly time consuming affair
Ey you got a title.
Also i like the idea of an succession game but i think i need to get a bit of training first. Could any of you direct me to a guide to get started? last time it just ended up with me dying a lot while i screamed frustrated at my pc.
