When a goblin comes and steals items from your stockpile, the loot icon in the bottom-left UI doesn’t display. The only way to re-loot these items is to use the loot area button.
i.e.
- have some items in a stockpile
- get raided by goblins
- watch them steal something
- kill them; notice the red border around the object
- click on the object and notice there’s no loot button
