Try deleting your user_setting.json in your game folder.

It looks like something is wrong there. The game will recreate it with default values.

This can come from a corrupt savefile too, I think. I wonder if the crash can be caused due to having the Steam folder in a different drive.

@ArkenTelcontar, do you have a crash.dmp file in “E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Stonehearth” ? If so, could you upload it?

Also, your graphic drivers are outdated, could you update them from here? : Download Drivers | NVIDIA (select your graphic card and OS there).

Have you tried any of the workarounds mentioned here: Some Technical Stuff – Stonehearth ?

I’ve already deleted the game since I do not like hard reboots (playing “Salt” from Steam thus damaging my graphics card), dump file did not create, in the game I used Polish characters which could cause some errors. Yes the target folder I have on disk E (space for others on C is 1.6 gb of 150). The drivers I have most suitable for your hardware.

Hello. After reviewing several pages and contacting the invidia support, I downloaded the recommended card protection program that prevents the card from being overloaded. The game continues to produce the same error but no hard reset.

About the savefiles, it still sounds like they are corrupt. Could you cut all the savefiles inside E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Stonehearth\saved_games and paste them in a new folder in your desktop, then run a new game, save it, and see if the savefile appears in the save/load window?

Also, verify the integrity of the game cache on Steam, maybe some other file is wrong and is breaking the game.

Lastly, do you have custom building templates that you saved?

Hello, I deleted all the records from the game, I created a new one after the error, the game did not see them. He copied it to another folder. I started again, after the next run the autosave are not. Trying to copy previous concession records only make “new game”.

That’s weird. I tried autosave from another folder and it does appear for “Continue”. Could you upload one of your autosave savefiles? To upload a save, locate the folder in
E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Stonehearth\saved_games, zip the individual save’s folder (not the entire saved_games folder), and upload it. If the *.zip is less than 10 MB, feel free to upload it directly to the Discourse. If larger, please upload it to a cloud storage site like Dropbox, Google Drive, File Dropper, etc. and post the sharing link here.

Normally when the savefiles don’t appear in the load menu is because they are corrupt and the game couldn’t read them correctly. If you save manually (not with autosave) do the savefiles appear in the menu or not?

When you reinstalled the game, did you do a clean reinstall, or just deleted the game from the Steam client?
The clean reinstall is by deleting the Stonehearth folder manually:

  1. Launch Steam.
  2. Right-click Stonehearth and click Properties
  3. Click on the Local Files tab
  4. Click Browse Local Files...
  5. If you have saved games or templates to save, complete the following. Otherwise, skip to step 6 below.
  • For saved games, copy saved_games to another location, like your Desktop.
  • For templates, copy saved_objects to another location, like your Desktop.
  1. Go up one directory level to the common folder.
  2. Delete the Stonehearth folder.
  3. Close Windows Explorer and return to Steam.
  4. Right-click Stonehearth and click Uninstall...
  5. Once removed, right-click Stonehearth again and click Install Game...
  6. If you backed up saves or templates in step 5 above, do the following. Otherwise, skip to step 12.
  7. Right-click Stonehearth and click Properties
  8. Click on the Local Files tab
  9. Click Browse Local Files...
  10. Copy the backed up folders into Stonehearth folder.
  11. Close Windows Explorer.
  12. Launch Stonehearth
  13. Finally…
