I tried a combat game and the goblins were spawning on the map every 30 seconds. I was losing heathlings and I couldn’t gather resources or mine. When the goblins first attacked I took the pole and campfire they left and put them in my town. My heathlings were lighting the camp fires. I read on steam that I shouldn’t have picked any thing up after killing the goblins. Did I mess my game up by taking the poles and campfires? Eta, I had two poles and campfires in my town. Also it seemed like every 30 seconds they were spawning on the map, but it was likely every couple of minutes.
Also a note to the devs. Please always keep the peaceful game option for those of us that like to play without combat. Also, thank you for including a peaceful option in the game.
The only thing ive heard of causing any issues was the goblin campfire… i dont know if it was fixed or not but the goblin campfire (the one that glows green) is deadly to hearthlings and will instantly kill them if they rest near it… or at least it used to… again i dont know if it still does cus ive stayed the heck away from it… everything else is safe to take though.
if you want to keep safe just keep and arm 2 heathlings as soldiers 2 hearthlings equiped with sword and shield should be able to survive any attack and killing the goblins alone will get you better armor/weapons for them so you dont even need to make armor/weapons (aside from the wooden shield and sword and maybe a stone hammer if you have a mason)
There shouldn’t be any issues with looting the goblin fireplaces or poles anymore.
However, goblins spawning every few minutes does not sound right, even if playing on super speed…what part of the campaign were you on? Had you defeated the chieftain yet, and had you dealt with the goblin wolves?
Peaceful mode isn’t going anywhere. There are many of us who enjoy building on its own, without worrying about those pesky goblins.
I never play on any speed over the normal time, I like watching the hearthlings do their jobs. The map was 69696968 and it was my second game on that map. I was on the edge near all the trees, playing the desert map. I just picked new game not campaign maybe it’s the sandbox game.
Ok, sorry if I was not clear. When you play a “normal” game, you will automatically start the “Goblin Campaign” when you reach 2500 net worth. Did you ever see a notification from a goblin demanding that you provide them with items?
No I don’t read the messages from caravans and traders becuase they ask for the things Im using so I always decline. I think I was playing sandbox because I allways just start new game. Oh, maybe you mean when choosing between peaceful and normal game. I did choose the normal game but I didn’t see any message from goblins only cavaans and traders.
OK. You likely did not reach the required net worth to trigger the campaign then, which is why you did not see the goblin message.
If you encounter this again, can you keep a close eye on how often you encounter the goblins. Without starting the goblin campaign, you should not encounter goblins more than once per day/night cycle.
Okay. But I’m playing a peaceful game now that combat was just too much for me to keep playing that game. Also, does several in one night count because I had that happen. I would kill the goblins and them more would show up during the same night. When I quit playing that game I had 2 goblins on the map with a spawn point each.sorry, my online service is messing up. I have really bad service.
I stopped a hearthling from destroying a campfire and told him to place it but it disappeared before he could place it. Where the goblins were spawning there was a dark square on the map but nothing to destroy because it disappeared when I told him to place it in town.
Just a tip, I’ve found that getting a lot of visibility early will actually help to prevent many raids before they happen as the goblins just tend to spawn less when you have explored a large proportion of the map
you can put hearthlings into “parties” and then use attack banners to set points where you want the, to explore to… i think that should work, but i actually havent tested it out.
I tried that and it works. But i suggest that for exploring you use your warriors because they don’t do anything in town but patrolling. also don’t forget to send them back home so they can eat and sleep.
