Problem with cut-and-paste of world seed (first time only)

If you use windows cut-and-paste function to paste a world seed into the game without writing some seed in by hand first, it will fail to update the world map. More of a glitch than a game breaking bug, but it’s annoying.

Reproduction Steps:

  1. Start the stonehearth program.
  2. Use Ctrl-C to copy your desired world seed into memory.
  3. Start a new game and proceed through to the world map generation screen.
  4. Click on the world seed and Ctrl-V to paste your desired world seed in.
  5. Press enter or click anywhere else on the screen.
  6. Observe nothing happens.

Workaround Steps:

  1. Click on world seed again.
  2. Manually adjust the world seed (you can delete a character with backspace or whatever, as long as you are typing something).
  3. Ctrl-V to paste your desired world seed in.
  4. Press enter or click anywhere else on the screen.
  5. Observe the desired world map being generated.

Bonus Bug: Press Esc repeatedly while in any of the campaign generation screens and you’ll hear the escape menu sound, but you won’t see it! It is also not possible to escape out of any step of the campaign generation.

if you click the “roll new map” doesnt it generate one for the seed you just put in?

@Tuhalu
Yeah I’ve run into this too.
The problem is the input doesn’t recognize the paste as a edit operation for some reason.
Will look into fixing it.

Not with this bug. If the paste isn’t being recognized as an edit of the world seed, then clicking on “roll new map” is just going to give you a new map. Once you perform the workaround, anywhere you click will load the correct map.

Paging @yshan, this is still an issue on release 472.
