Would it be hard to give the option to choose what type of block you place before doing it, its so annoying to go around your build selecting all of em to then set em to roof, wall or block after.
I’m not certain if I understand you correctly, but you can preselect the textures before you place down your walls. Click on the Wall Column Floor words (UI could be better, I agree) and then highlight the color of your choosing for each. Then draw your wall box.
What’d be a great addition to the UI would be next to Wall Column Floor is a little box Showing what color you’ve chosen.
So…
Wall 
Column Floor
Would be at the top showing the player exactly what color they’ve chosen so they don’t have to figure out if it got changed accidentally.
Slap tool?? Are they going the DungeonKeeper route, now? 
Until I read the rest of the post I was a bit concerned that’s what the OP was asking for.
I’m talking about the tool to place single blocks, when you have placed em you can choose what type of block it is, wall, roof or block. But it would be nice if you could do that before placing em so that you don’t have to go around your build and select em to set what they are after

Ah! Gotcha. Y’know what’d be even better? If you could see what all blocks in a build are designated as with some sort of color code. Adjacent slab blocks are all counted as the same type for now. I would love to be able to drag select them and designate each individually. I’d love for my slab-built pillar to be there all the time but I want my slab-built roof to poofle when I change my view.
