hi RADIANT, you
My greatest concern is that a great launch is underway. For the team of radiant that means finally peace and some time away from StoneHearth.
On the Theatre Scene it is sometime called “the handover” were the director give the play to the actors, that being us.
Hello Bernt, I see where your concern is coming from, that perhaps now that Stonehearth is launched on Steam there will be less community interactivity? From what I’ve seen Radiant is fully committed to the game and their fans. Every week on Tuesday Radiant releases a Desktop Tuesday, where they talk about what’s going on with the games development and new content being developed.
On Tuesday, and Thursday nights Radiant does a stream from 9:00 pm est to 10:00 pm est. There’s also a stream on Wednesday mornings usually with Tony, he shows us some of the bugs with the game and he tackles them with his bug hammer! On the Tuesday and Thursday stream usually Tom is there to show us new stuff that is being made within the game and also talks to some of the community members. Radiant seems to be very into their fans that I see no diversion away from the fans.
I woudn’t worry about that to much, since the start of developmentRadiant has always listened to the community and talked with them. They said that as long as they have enough funds to support SH, they would keep supporting it, even after the full release.
I would even say that Team Radiant are not only the devs, but also devoted fans of the game. Might sound obvious, but after working on something for quite a while, that is - IMO - quite an achievement!
I’m bought this under the impression, though, that this game is in alpha and has quite a lot more development to go. One thing that I keep thinking about is whether Radiant would be able to do another round of funding on Kickstarter for an even larger target (like one million dollars). This could be put specifically toward developing the game engine while the current team can focus on mechanics and core gameplay.
I’m not aware of any financial issues the team is having and they have been very devoted to making this game right and fun! Yeah there is quite a bit of work still yet to be done but a lot of the foundation has been set. Of course there are going to be bugs…there is not such thing as perfect code…especially because humans are the ones making the code Worry not cypher50… I know they won’t abandon this game without trying everything they can to keep it alive! They love the game just as much as we do…it will live!
Oh and as I was saying about the foundation…a lot of the core stuff is there. Yes there is more to go and yes there are some bugs but once they get their foundations in it’ll only be modding to add some of the other variants. We see this a little with addition of Rayya’s Children!
