Hello, new to the forum, but not new to the game.
For some reason my stoneheart game keeps crashing every time I join or host a multiplayer
There is no apparent reason for it, I don’t get a error beforehand. I do however get this message:
When i click ‘Ok’ it closes the game to desktop
NOTE: this happens with AND without mods.
These are my specs;
win 10 64 bit
AMD FX™-8350 eight-Core Processor
16384 RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB

Can’t upload my crash.dmp due to new user crash.zip (28.7 KB)
Hello Sdee thank you for your quick response! i play Stoneheart MP through steam.
tried editing my post but seems i still can’t send a attachment ( the crash.dmp)
Hmm, looking at the error message, it doesn’t seem to match the log or the crash dump. A few things to try:
Make sure both the server and client are using the same version of the game (e.g. both are on the “default” Steam branch or both are on “latest”).
If the crash occurs again, make sure to copy the log and dump file out before running the game again.
Try swapping who hosts and who joins and see if that results in a different behavior.
Make sure you are running a fresh game rather than starting from a savegame that may have been created in an older version or with different mods enabled.
This still happens. Just wanted to share a personal theory of mine:
Since Kita plays from Sweden and I play from Brazil, I’ve always had this theory that it could be somewhat related to latency, loss of sync and SH not being able to deal with it. Why? Because in single player and multiplayer (when she hosts) the game runs perfectly fine and doesn’t crash. I’m severely lagged when she hosts, though - and she does have a slower connection than mine.
So I do have this theory that maybe SH can’t handle sync issues and ends up blowing up. We’ve experimented and sometimes pausing/only playing in slow speed seems to “help” with the issues every now and then but it does still happen.
Last night while testing something for ACE Multiplayer with Paul I’ve noticed something that could perhaps support that theory: my internet had a lag spike - we noticed because I disconnected and reconnected to the Discord call - but most importantly, during the lag spike, my game crashed similarly to how Kita’s do.
So… it’s just a long shot, these error reports and such seem to mention other possibilities (building?) but either way, just bumping this thread
Seconding your hypothesis, when playing with kitty we also had odd crashes like this (client side crash, kitty is in the states, im in the netherlands) and she sometimes described seeing this as a sideshow even though on my end (host) everything was fine and dandy full speed etc.
I just experienced this same issue. I agree with the latency induced issue. My internet is pretty bad, but it’s the cheapest i can get! I was able to play with 1 of my friends. But as soon as we went to a 3 player game I started crashing, seemingly faster and faster. I crashed a couple times at the screen where I was customizing my characters and just clicking the dice roll buttons.
I found this thread from googling:
