I think the new update caused me to lose two hearthlings, a footmen and a high level blacksmith
Can you elaborate? Did they just poof and disappear while you were playing? Did this happen when you loaded a save game, and if so, what version was the game last opened in?
they were in the game before the last update, and now they, and their gear is gone. I believe they were gone when I loaded the save, because I thought I had 20 hearthlings but then it said i had 18.
Well, if you look at the save, do the 3 numbers add up to 20, or 18? What happens if you load the save again?
the numbers add up to 20, but if i load the saves, I get this error
develop-2818 (x64)
c++ exception: 'rayyas_children' has no alias named 'male_4_additions' in the manifest.
stack traceback:
[C]: in function 'load_json'
radiant/modules/resources.lua:33: in function 'load_json'

radiant/modules/entities.lua:480: in function 'get_json'
...onehearth/components/commands/commands_component.lua:16: in function <...onehearth/components/commands/commands_component.lua:14>
and then I have 18 hearthlings
Looks like something was deleted that should not have been. Can you please upload your save?
Thanks!
-Yang
I uploaded two saves in the “a14 giant saves” thread. Those had the same issue, though I can upload more when I get home from work tonight.
Summary: Just launched the game, loaded a save that I had created and played through two in-game days without any crashes or errors yesterday. Upon loading the save I get six Engine Errors, find I am one citizen short of what I had yesterday (6 instead of 7), and at first glance it appears that none of the remaining citizens have heads.
Steps to reproduce:
- Launch Stonehearth
- Load saved game
- Observe
Notes: See links in “Attachments” for engine error reports. Using PasteBin to prevent an incredibly long post.

Version Number and Mods in use:
Version: develop-2818 (x32)
Mods: None (I think… The rayyas_children.smod file isn’t an actual mod but part of the game, right?)
System Information:
OS: Windows 7 Professional (64-bit)
CPU: Intel Core i7-4850HQ CPU @ 2.3GHz
RAM: 16 GB
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M
Summary:
Basically loading my game made in 2797 into 2820 of A14. Engine Error (6) pops up. Probably from updating to current version caused these, or stagnate ladders they don’t want to take down. This was the game I shared that I mentioned having continous battle music on. Still there, as all you would have to do is enter combat, and it never stops.
I have a headless hearthling. Something about head number 4…
Steps to reproduce:
Don’t know how to reproduce, as it is engine errors that just popped up from updating to current version.
Expected Results:
At least having villager with heads.
Actual Results:
Someone to make the headless horseman jealous.
Notes:
I am giving log and a text file with the errors.
Also note I was loading game after game till I found this particular one; which is the one I was wanting to play. Couldn’t remember the name of town at the time.
This is not a crash report, as I was able to play a little with battle music constant.
Probably will start a new game anyways. Better to see if music fails again, and to have a fresh start with the new heads; even if it is amusing to have a horseman’s cousin in that save. Oddly it was the tailor.
Just figured you would want something maybe to point out or help with compatible version issues. If this helps at all.

@yshan
I’m getting the same set of errors as the others in this thread. The relevant save is from the version just before this one.
It makes 3 of my hearthlings disappear and most (if not all) of the remaining 6 wind up with no head. No wonder they are hungry…
Here is a save file (7.0 MB) where the problem will occur.
Edit: Oh yeah, I should probably mentioning I was running my tuhalu.smod with this save… So that you can run it without any extra errors.
I’m really not a mean person but that last screenshot just made me burst out laughing with the “no wonder they are hungry…”
My guess is the headless thing has something to do with the new hats / helmets being introduced with last update?
I am going to try and load up a my save game from prior to 2820 and do a head count. Err… maybe that wasn’t the best choice of words…

here is a save file that definitely has the bug in it
i cant think of a better choice of words
Hi there,
I’ve put in a fix for this for the next unstable release.
Thanks
