Let's Translate Together!

Hello Everyone and Each single One of You!

For about 4 days, I (with @Corgam, @Logout400 and @SilentNeko am working on Polish translation of the game.
During the translation we got an uncommon idea:

We created a project on WebTranslateIt and uploaded the JSON file. Script located there works almost like TKH helper tool with one “small” bonus - “multiplayer version”. O_O

We have thanks to that two advantages:

  • we may have all the translations in one place. (even uncommon like Quenya or… Klingon)
  • it significiantly improves the speed of translation.

Currently three teams are working there: Polish (4 people), Dutch (1 person), Esperanto (1 person). And many, MANY more can join. I need only two things to add a person to the group: e-mail address and languages. To have things simple: PM me with the information and You will get the access ASAP.

So, anyone interested?

So you have found a way for the funding?

I have enough money to fund at least 1 additional month of translation (First 30 days are free, no matter how much lines). Also, we may download all translation packs anytime if we would like to or (not recommended) exploit the rules.

Ah ok ^^ But like i have saied i have finished my translation to 99% and work now on the last lines xD
but its a great idea, when there are more people who are willing to help xD

Well, this way it’s way easier to help, so the interest may grow.

Hmmm… Team Radiant-senpai? @yshan? @sdee? I would like to get your opinion about that way of translating.

If you’re interested in “take over” and making it a global project, I am ready to give all accessand ‘back myself’ to being just a translator.

####Other Information
@coasterspaul started English Pirate translation there.

dont forget the radiant official way for translating : GitHub - stonehearth/startermod_locale: Example mod of adding a new language to stonehearth.

@Estiva, I know that way. I am using the mod to test translations ingame. But when more people are working on the translation having only that mod, things may get risky and uncomfortable.

Example? We have 5 people working on the translation in Poland. Knowing we have to translate one (huge) file… sometimes brings conflicts between translators (we had a huge dispute about how to translate… a poyo. xD)

That’s why I am trying to promote my way. Files may be freely used to be implemented via startermod_locale then.

little suggest to your dispute best is to keep ingame names for items or persons they just exist their - like poyo or Havaad’s or Ogo Skullbonker^^

In some times it works, in some times it wouldn’t.

Havaad or Ogo are “personal names”, so we aren’t translate them. :stuck_out_tongue:

Problem appears for example in case of (said) poyo, flowers (brightbell => jasnodzwon, silkweed => włókiennica). About 80% of our team had a contact with Minecraft and saw, how much players “degenerated” the language.

Also - the more the merrier.

ok the flowers i undestand i have also translate them because they exist ^^ but poyos doenst exist in the RL … or exist now - if Stonehearth become famous they will breed them

Poyos are like chickens. So an “Idea clash” was between two ideas:

  • Poyo
  • Kuciak (english: “cheekin”, comedy-took version)

but poyos are no chicken they are a mix of chicken and turkey and has first the name BuckBuck and later poyo ^^

and ok this clash is understandable ^^ i was also in clash to name them back to BuckBuck ^^

but good for me - that im the only german translator and i know how to win against my 11 other selfs

and now enough derail ^^
