I am now at 20 citizens, tier 1 unlocked of the township quest. After I saved yesterday and reloading today my township quest is gone (I just noticed after building the statue of plenty.) Also don’t get any new citizens when the day starts.
There is no way to restart the township quest, but I think the issue you’re seeing (no quest) and not getting new citizens are unrelated.
- If you crafted and placed the statue of plenty, assuming your wealth is high enough, you’ve likely completed the quest already! A quick way to check would be looking at the built-in templates. If you see only “Camp Templates”, then you’re at tier one and something is wrong. If you see “Town Templates” in addition to “Camp Templates”, then you’re at tier 2 and there is no reason to restart the quest.
- For the lack of daily updates, there is a gameplay setting that limits how many citizens you can have. It defaults to 20. Change that via settings and you’ll see the daily update again. Note: more citizens equals more work for the game. You will eventually see performance issues with too many Hearthlings. The number where the issue occurs depends on your computer hardware.
The game only starts lagging after about an hour of processing commands. Then suddenly starts stuttering forever. Only to go back to normal when I save and reload, telling me there’s a simple piece of code obstructing flow.
Thanks for the fast reply, I see the town templates but those were unlocked with “the valor of the cid” and not with the fountain of plenty. Maybe there is just no content to explore just yet cause this is an alpha.
Thanks for the suggestion of changing the citizen limit.
For the tier 2 quest you need to fulfill 1 of the 3 requirements. At the moment, tier two unlocks the following: new templates, new music, and new traders. You are correct that more content is planned.
Ah yes, I thought that tier 0 = no statues, tier 1 = valor of the cid, tier 2 = fountain of plenty. But I guess you just not unlock anything new with placing the fountain of plenty. I just found it weird that the quest was gone. (I thought you had to build all three of the ‘monuments’ that can be crafted by the Mason).
Personally I would much prefer all three to be made before advancing simply because if you’re good enough at the game you can have all three made around the same time
The problem is that this doesn’t work for players in peaceful mode - you can’t get the goblin honor tokens…
I agree, there should at least be some kind of reward for building all three of the statues, as it requires skill and effort to do.
