How to re-use log piles?

I stacked wood logs into log piles in hope to re-use them later as wood logs again but I see it doesn’t work like that. Although I have tons of log piles, carpenter reports lack of wood pile to produce anything.
I was looking for answer on our forum but couldn’t find any answer.

Help me please.

Drag your harvest button over hen then your workers will break them up

to re-use log piles simply place them down like a piece of furniture, and then use the harvest tool on them
