We have doors and windows to fill vertical holes. With the introduction of weather and it’s effect on Hearthling happiness, we now need a way to both allow for roof access and manage weather. Enter: Hatches and sky lights (horizontal windows).

Hatches are just a horizontal door we could use on roof access holes.

Should be a pretty simple add. …no?
