Game doesn't start, please help (AVG Antivirus)

When I try to open the game, nothing happens. I have tried everything told in the Crashing-On-Start post. I found a post of someone with the same problem as mine. I tried what they said in the post and the log changed a bit, but still the problem.

Welcome to the forum, @PTM_2563

You have quite an old version of Stonehearth. I’d recommend to update it first (Steam should auto-update it, but if you’re not a Steam user, go to your Humble Bundle library and manually redownload the game).

In the log there’s this error about the radiant mod. Have you modified / unzipped any mod in the mods folder, perhaps?

if you have any mods might be the issue delete them and try again

No mods. As I said, I think it could be because I’m running a x32 bits when my system is x64 bits. But if I try to open the x64 version, the log is completely useless:

@PTM_2563 - Your version of Stonehearth was released in March and we’ve fixed a number of issues since then. Try downloading the latest version and let us know the results.

I tried. Still the same. EVERYTHING is the same (except the version,OK). Still happening. Still tried modificating the user_settings and still nothing happens.

But one of the times I tried, I got the message that said ‘Stoneheart is not working’ (or I don’t know how it’s in english, i’m Spanish :joy: ). But it wasn’t an emergent window. It appeared like a notificatiion in the bottom-right corner of the screen, with the sound icon, internet signal, battery and so.

I opened it and it sayed that it had stop working and it was sending the error data to Windows. I stopped the loading because Windows couldn’t do anything with Stoneheart :joy: .

The very first error you posted indicates a bad installation. It looks like it can’t read the radiant.smod file in the mods folder.

Different behavior between 32 and 64 bit or starting the game and hanging on a black screen is usually caused by security software interfering with game. What firewall, anti-virus, privacy, software are you running?

As I said, radiant.smod isn’t in the mods folder. I suppose because of that the error, but I don’t know why it tries to run it if it doesn’t exist.

And, yes, I’ve got AVG AntiVirus. I don’t really like it, but it’s the family’s PC and they don’t let me deleting it. It’s the thing I supposed was interfering, but I tried to disable it. I’ll try again and I’ll tell you the results.

Yeeeees you are the best team. I finally disabled AVG and after reinstalling stoneheart and putting the radiant.smod in the mods folder, it has finally open!! REALLY THANKS U R THE BEEEEST :grinning:

:grinning:

Really thanks,
Me

Only with 32-Bits (64 doesn’t open) but really thanks

Glad you got it running!
