Forge is not enough SH-ish

yes you should be able to “cut” apart the and make multiple matrices, but it would be easier to jst load the original model into voxelshop and then make the changes to it there.

does that make sense?

but its unimportant unless i find an free programm for the animations^^

Mhmmm… if you can edit the original file without breaking the matrixes (editing only the matrix of the “body”), then you should not have to touch to the animation. I guess…

if you do the editing in voxelshop then it would be fine, as voxel shop allows for multiple matrices.

but the problem is he has 3 matrices: body (rest) and bellowtop and bellowbutton. so the animations just move this both matrices ^^ soo i must make a complete new animation for this one.

I gave a go with Voxelshop and edited the body matrix only. I’ve tested dropping the forge into a fresh game and it seems ok but could not verify yet the bellows animation. If you want to try:

Forge.zip (120.1 KB)

it almost looks like a mimic, except for the fact that only a little part of it was moving…

jup ^^ she has added it to the bellowtop  and the most animations happens with gravity and so the roof wants to greating all

Funny, yes indeed, the modif was done on the bad layer! Well that’s what happens discovering new softs… :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

So It is fully functional but there is something I’m wondering about: the file is 152ko while the original was 219ko. And the new one do have a few more voxels. How is this possible? Have we lost something anyway?

i have now installed qubicle2 trail and make a new screenshot now it looks good

I’m not that hot to change the iconic form, Tom was clear, it must be simple, just the spirit of the model. So I agree with the default iconic form, the bellows is useless for such tiny item.
For the pict, I also agree with the default one; it’s not a simple screen of the model but a special model done just for this. Yesterday night I have made it on my mac partition, so as soon as I log in I’ll post it to you. Then you’ll choose.

No idea with my above interrogation? Now as our model seems ok, I’m wondering if ALL the models in the game could not be optimized! :astonished:

Its your mod and i understand what you mean - also now that the full bellow is back the original iconic works better  you must just override the iconic and the png and fini

No no, it’s not MY mod! At first I didn’t had any intention to do a mod, just wanted Tom to reconsider the model.
But now, tx to you we do have a mod. So let’s say its a collaboration!

And here is what I think fit perfectly, your model, Tom’s icon and the new png from me: Forge.zip (15.7 KB)

What do you say?

Note: lol really we are bad, 6 days and 36 posts when Tom do that in 5 minutes…

(Edit, for info, Tom’s method for the png is a 6px pure black outline at 40% transparency.)

ok likes nice and i see you have packed it on an mac ^^ lots of extra macinfos xD

also test looks now really good

Thanks! I’ve always struggled with this, since I saw different borders depending on the recipe, and never knew which one would be the correct one

with which tool you have make the png? in the qubicle 2 trial (perhaps the reason is its trial xD) i have no options for this settings ^^

Erf, sorry I always forgot about these nasty invisible files…

Erf bis, I thought he had a constant method… The 6px black outline + 40% transparency is what was used for the original forge .png… Perhaps there is some rules depending the kind of items? Or it just depends on the wind direction!

I think he had to unify all the PNGs at some point, since there were still some of them without border… But I think lately he’s using the one that you mention.
