As the title says, the amount of basic resources in the inventory, like wood, stone, clay, and food, should be displayed somewhere on the GUI. Perhaps as an optional feature.
I often find myself wondering “why don’t they build this?” then I check the inventory, and find that I have zero wood or stone or clay. It would help us notice easier when something is running low, rather than finding out when the hearthlings stop building something important.
Perhaps the displayed materials could also be chosen by the player, so if someone would rather see the amount of simple chairs in the inventory, they would set it so the amount of simple chairs is displayed.
