[Dev Blog] Stonehearth Alpha r34 now available on Steam

Well, the update “broke” modding. But we still have io. My final statement about this update is that I have no strong feelings one way or the other.

Again I missed the party =(
One question: did they change the berry bushes not to recharge?
Because I waited almost 2 days and they kept empty after being harvested.

Time to fill some reports…

They regenerate after 40h instead of the old 2h. That is 1 and two thirds days. How long exactly did you wait for? Try waiting 3 days.

Ok. I still have to try modding so…

I keep having issues when I’m trying to add more than one override. I might not be getting the formatting right. I have a feeling there should be brackets or a comma somewhere in there.

thanks for the clarification… i noticed the (welcome) increased length of time, but wasnt sure just how long it was…

Naaw, unless there’s something specifically for your version…
Mine was female, so sorry to burst your conspiracy theory, although I supplied you with a new one. :stuck_out_tongue:

I thought workers wouldn’t get stuck anymore.

I guess that’s more “locked-in” than “stuck”, eh.

We have something that @sdee doesn’t have though. We have rescue unicorns.

Thanks

Seems to have fixed my basic issue. On to more testing!

My workers are still getting quite stuck, though instead of just standing there, they seem to be doing some sort of moonwalk, holding a log, on the spot in the stockpile…

Ah! Workaround: Nuke the stockpile and create another one. I think this happens if you make a stockpile on top of a worker carrying a log.

Love the update, and lots of things are fixed/improved.

Bad stuff:

  • Since last update as I WASD scroll the rendering “jerks”. This seems to be worse in this release.
  • “Jailed” workers cause the “lua gc” and “pathfinder” to wig out with the gc running at about 98% on my beefy machine. With three workers stuck and 1 carpenter the other two workers just stood around and did nothing.
  • Workers walk a really long way to eat a plate of berries.
  • Could not finish two houses and short wall before everyone stopped working.

I love that at last in this release I can see the translucid blueprint of buildings
:star: _ :star:
But it’s true that my cpu runs often high with the new improvements =/
I don’t know why the bar gets mostly blue even if they finished their tasks and are just sitting around the campfire.

I don’t know if this was intentional or if it was just an AI bug but the cute little Alaina Edessa was in the middle of removing the scaffolding from a newly created house. After she placed the block she was carrying back to the stockpile she walked up to the campfire, warmed her hands for a few seconds then went on her way back to work.

I love this game.

Gah. It means there’s some tasks floating around in lua that they don’t know how to do, so they don’t start them.

no, it means they’re becoming sentient, and “adapting” to their environments…

sounds like a great quirk to me!
